Born and raised in Alaska, my journey with food began early. After earning two state culinary medals and formal training in high school, I explored various paths, but the pull of bold, creative flavors never let go. In 2018, during a berry-picking adventure with my little brother, Hungry Bear Jellies was born—sparked by curiosity and a single flavor: Blueberry Jalapeño. From that moment, I set out to craft small-batch jams inspired by the wild tastes of Alaska.

The Why

For me, jam isn’t just a condiment—it’s a way to tell a story through flavor. I’ve always believed food should be fun, fearless, and full of character. That’s why I create jams that go beyond the ordinary: sweet with a kick, savory with a twist, and always made with intention. Hungry Bear Jellies is my way of sharing Alaska’s wild, untamed spirit one jar at a time—something a little different for those who crave flavor with personality

Each batch of Hungry Bear Jellies is handcrafted with care, using real fruit, pure cane sugar, and creative flavor pairings you won’t find on store shelves. While our Alaska Collection features wild-foraged berries from our home state, most of our jams are built around bold, inventive blends from quality-sourced ingredients. Every jar is a reflection of my kitchen creativity—where small-batch cooking meets big personality.

Challenges + Wins

Starting a jam business was anything but straightforward. From sourcing jars during supply shortages to testing (and retesting) recipes that didn’t quite hit the mark, there were plenty of hurdles early on. But every challenge came with a lesson—and some sweet rewards. Seeing customers come back again and again for flavors like Raspberry Habanero and Strawberry Rhubarb has been incredibly rewarding. From local markets to mailboxes across the country, it’s been a wild, wonderful ride—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
